Content mix planner.
Decide how often you post and in which formats. The planner lays out four weeks, rotates your pillars and adds up the production time, so you can see if the plan is realistic.
Your four-week calendar
- VShort-form video
- CCarousels
- SStories
- PStatic posts
Mix by format
| Format | Pieces | Share | Hours each | Hours |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Short-form video | 10 | 42% | 3.5 h | 35 h |
| Carousels | 6 | 25% | 2 h | 12 h |
| Stories | 6 | 25% | 0.5 h | 3 h |
| Static posts | 2 | 8% | 1 h | 2 h |
| Four weeks | 24 | 100% | 52 h |
Estimates only. Hours per piece are sample planning assumptions (concept, shoot share, edit and review): short-form video 3.5 h, carousel 2 h, static post 1 h, story 0.5 h. Your real numbers depend on the team and the format.
The assumptions
What the planner takes for granted.
- A month
- Four weeks. Pieces per month = posts per week × 4.
- Short-form video
- 3.5 h per piece, sample figure covering concept, shoot share, edit and review.
- Carousels
- 2 h per piece, sample figure covering concept, shoot share, edit and review.
- Stories
- 0.5 h per piece, sample figure covering concept, shoot share, edit and review.
- Static posts
- 1 h per piece, sample figure covering concept, shoot share, edit and review.
- Production day
- 7 working hours. Production days = total hours ÷ 7.
- Worked example
- 6 posts a week is 24 pieces. A 40/25/25/10 mix gives 10 videos, 6 carousels, 6 stories and 2 statics: 35 + 12 + 3 + 2 = 52 hours, or 7.4 production days.
Posts per week are spread across the days in a fixed order: Monday, Wednesday and Friday first, then Tuesday and Thursday, then the weekend. Above seven a week, some days carry two pieces.
The planner multiplies the monthly total by each share, rounds down, then gives the leftover pieces to the formats with the largest remainders. The counts always add up to the total.
They are sample assumptions for this demo: concept, a share of shoot time, edit and review per piece. A team with a batch shoot day will be faster, a solo creator slower.
The job a post does for the viewer: teach, show the making, prove it works, make an offer. The planner rotates through the pillars you tick so the same job never appears twice in a row.

More hours than you have?
One shoot day a month can cover most of that calendar. Tell us the plan and we will tell you what it takes.
